Joshua Expedition Update
Steve Coder
What Are Joshua Expeditions?
Many years ago, the Lord gave me a vision in which I saw Joshua, in the early morning hours, throw back the flap of his tent and realize the cloud was moving. He threw down his coffee (I like to think it was coffee) and called out to the camp, “The cloud has moved. Let’s go!”
Recently, we sensed that same call of God directing us to the Appalachian Trail. In simple obedience, we said, “Let’s go.” With Ezekiel sticks in hand and the message, “God will make you fruitful in the land of your suffering,”
Joshua Expeditions are about following wherever He leads and inviting others to join Him on the greatest adventure of all and what an adventure it has become. The cloud has moved. Let’s go!

Live from the Trail – July 9, 2026
Most of you may already know that I recently injured my left ankle. To determine treatment, I had an MRI on the left ankle and decided to include the right ankle for understanding of how to move forward. The MRIs came back on my ankles, and the results were not what we were hoping for.
In short, the foot I recently injured has a complete tendon tear along with significant ligament damage. What surprised me even more is that my right foot, the one I was not expecting any issues with, actually has even more extensive damage, including another complete tendon tear and multiple torn ligaments. I’ll be meeting with the doctors to determine what the next steps will be.
It does not take much to connect the dots. Almost immediately after we stepped into obedience with Joshua Expeditions and what God is doing on the Appalachian Trail, both of my feet suddenly became a major issue.
In Joshua chapter 1, just after God tells Joshua, “I will give you every place where you set your foot” (Joshua 1:3), He immediately repeats the same command three times:
“Be strong and courageous.” (Joshua 1:6)
“Be strong and very courageous.” (Joshua 1:7)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
That last promise has settled deeply into my heart:
“For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
That is why we are presently heading back to the trail! I am not looking to hike a lot of miles. I simply want to place my feet back on the trail as a proclamation of obedience before realms both seen and the unseen. Not simply because it is the Appalachian Trail, but because it represents calling a generation to join the adventure! Thanks for praying with us!
The cloud has moved. Let’s go.
