Here is a view into what a week of Christmas for Haiti looks like!
The Story – A Legacy of Love

Every year since 1986, Hand to the Plow has gathered small toys, candy and a printout of the Christmas story and packaged them for the children of Haiti. Some years it has been 35,000 gifts.
A week is spent in December going to villages throughout Haiti telling the glorious story of Jesus’s life, from His birth to His death on the cross. Afterwards, we distribute the gifts. Without fail, the presence of Jesus comes, the joy of the Lord fills the room and for a moment, the sparkle of Christmas shines in the eyes of the children and villagers!
It’s not just a tradition, it’s a great joy and privilege!
In recent years and because of the ongoing upheaval in Haiti, our Christmas for Haiti endeavor has been to provide rice for distribution. With travel halted to or throughout Haiti during this crisis, we have heeded Sister Phyllis’ direction and have supplied as much rice as we can. To read more about Sister Phyllis, click here.
It is our hope that, in the future, this great adventure will resume and we will once again see the children’s eyes filled with joy at the wonder of the Christmas story and a humble Christmas gift.
